Zombie Sluts and Cheap Eye Shadow

Last night I hung out with some friends of mine, cooked dinner, and watched movies from the 1990s. We watched one of my all time favorites, My Boyfriend's Back. You know the one: Johnny Dingle dies for Missy McCloud and then comes back from the dead and eats Chuck for her? No?!?! Big Chuck and the rest of the people in town call her a Zombie Slut and a Whore of the Undead? Still NO?!?! Damn. Buy it over at Amazon for a good laugh. Here! Buy it HERE! It is eligible for Super Saver Shipping, also. Well, I don't leave the house without makeup and thought that the movie night was the perfect night to test out a surprise product!

The other day Mummy Dearest and I were jetting around town in our oh-so-environmentally friendly V-8 and she stated that she needed "some of that stuff you use on your lips to make your lipstick stay on." By that, she meant Sealed With a Kiss from Sally Beauty Supply (snag it here or at your local Sally). She has never bought it before, so I point it out at the register, oh so low to the ground (never sing "How low can you go?" to my mother. EVER) and between watching her try not to hurt herself and dodging the things she likes to hurl my way, I spotted Sally Girl cosmetics! Only 99cents! Too good to be true, right?

WRONG! They are mini eye shadows, lips glosses, lipsticks, bronzers, nail polishes, and glitters (am I missing anything?) for under $1 USD. So, dear reader, I was a guinea pig for you and snagged a couple of the mini baked eye shadows (buy here). I picked up the Dark Green and what I think is the Dark Purple--but neither are dark! They're actually clear and bright colors.

I've only tried the green out because Mummy Dearest commandeered the purple for her collection.

Excuse the poor quality, my camera phone is a stinker. Want to see it on the eye?

As you can see, it really is more of a bright aqua green than a dark green. But, I know you're asking, how does it wear? FANTASTICALLY! Seriously, dear reader, next time you're near a Sally Beauty Supply and you have a hand full of change to spend--drop in and snag you a couple of these babies. For less than $1 USD they hold up well, they're pretty, and they're a great quality.

What about you? Have you tried these little pretties yet?

Who Doesn't Need a Little Proseac?

I have to thank a good friend for the title of this blog. He suggested "Prozac Optional" but I decided it probably wasn't for the best, as I've never been on that particular pharmaceutical. Note: In no way am I saying that the pharmaceutical that the blog name plays off of is optional for everyone. Writing is my therapy.

What can you, a darling dear reader, find here at Proseac Optional?

You can find the writings of  a female in her early 20s with a love for bright makeup, books, music, movies, food...and a lot of other things. I plan on publishing reviews, looks (I'm debating on that one based on my professional life), rants, prose, poetry. That old dog and pony show sort of thing that everyone has jumped onto. However, this isn't something I'm planning on doing for anybody other than myself. I'm, admittedly, out of work at the moment and need something to fill my mind and time.

Oh! And for those of you who know me: You will notice that I'm using a nom de plume. I'm doing this for no other reason than to make it harder to associate this with my professional life. The name was chosen after ten or twenty people told me that my personality was "just like a storm."

So enjoy! Let me know what you would like to see.
